2026 Lexus ES Preview, Coming Soon to the Bay Area
Previewing the Redesigned 2026 Lexus ES
At Lexus of Pleasanton, we are thrilled to announce the upcoming 2026 Lexus ES. The latest version of the flagship Lexus sedan has received a major update for the new model year, and we think our customers will be excited to learn all about it. The 2026 ES is expected to boast the same trims as last year's model, albeit paired with an overhauled powertrain lineup (which we'll cover in the performance section). Here are the Lexus ES trim levels:
- Base: Includes power-adjustable front seats, NuLuxe® interior trim, dual-zone automatic climate control, and an infotainment touchscreen.
- Luxury: Adds additional adjustments for the driver's seat, quilted leather upholstery, a wood and leather trimmed steering wheel, and wireless smartphone charging.
- Ultra Luxury: Adds a power rear sunshade, a larger touchscreen, and extra safety features.
- F Sport Design: Adds unique F Sport styling, gloss black alloy wheels, and a rear spoiler.
- F Sport Handling: Adds performance-based instrumentation, heated and ventilated front seats, and an adaptive variable suspension.

Interior Features & DesignÂ
The 2026 Lexus ES cabin has been redesigned to optimize comfort for all five passengers. The ES's overall length has been extended by about 6.5 inches and the wheelbase by about three inches. This makes the cabin more spacious, giving everyone inside more room to stretch out comfortably. The ES also gains some striking available interior design elements. Available Bamboo Layering uses 3D printing to recreate the appearance and texture of genuine bamboo. Thematic Ambient Illumination creates a stunning interior atmosphere. You can also upgrade your ES with comforts like massaging front and rear seats with heating and ventilation, as well as a rear passenger-side ottoman.
Exterior Features & Design
The 2026 Lexus ES makeover extends inside and out. The latest ES gets a revamped front fascia with a larger, more subtle front spindle design that extends to the edges of the front bumpers. Hybrid models get a slim front grille, which provides the cooling your engine needs as you drive. The 2026 ES silhouette is sleeker and more streamlined than ever, giving the sedan a sporty and aerodynamic appearance. A low stance and center of gravity aren't just stylish; they also contribute to the ES's nimble handling.

Performance
The biggest changes to the 2026 ES might be under the hood. The standard gas engine from the previous model has been discontinued. All ES models now feature either a hybrid or fully electric powertrain. Likewise, the model's hybrid setup has gained some extra power. The 350h hybrid setup is standard, and generates an impressive 244 horsepower (29 more than last year's model) while offering a choice between front-wheel or all-wheel drive. Joining the 2026 ES lineup are the all-new, fully electric 350e and 500e powertrains. The 350e has a front-mounted electric motor that generates 221 horsepower, while the 500e's dual-motor, all-wheel drive setup generates 338 horsepower.
Technology & Safety
A 14-inch touchscreen replaces the 12.3-inch touchscreen that was available on last year's ES. The updated display includes the latest version of the Lexus Interface multimedia system, which offers split-screen capability and improved voice recognition. Wireless Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ still come standard. If you love listening to music on the road, you will want to upgrade your ES stereo to the available Mark Levinson® Surround Sound System.
Of course, Lexus still puts driver and passenger safety first. The 2026 ES is the first vehicle to feature the Lexus Safety System+ 4.0, the latest version of Lexus' legendary driver assistance suite. So far, we know that LSS+ 4.0 will include improvements to its hardware and detection, but we can let you know more about its specific features when Lexus releases those details.
